Dr. Charles Edward Bayha received his Ph. D. in 1967, in organic chemistry. He has worked for: Dow Chemical as a post doctorate research fellow in the area of Pharmaceutical drug synthesis, Reichhold Chemical as a senior research chemist, and Alpha/Owens Corning as Vice President in charge of Research and Development. In 1988, he founded Zircon, as a division of Alpha/Owens Corning to develop, market, and sell novel and unique products that were, at the time, only laboratory oddities. In 1992, he purchased Zircon and incorporated it in the state of Tennessee.

Dr. Bayha has authored fifteen patents, four of which are the property of Zircon, with two additional patents pending.

He has extensive experience in polyester resins, acrylics, epoxies, and urethane chemistry.
